Speaking on Lobster Coast, Chebeague Island, Maine, May 9

On May 9th I’ll be giving a virtual talk on the past, present and future of coastal Maine, topic of my book, The Lobster Coast: Rebels, Rusticators and the Struggle for a Forgotten Frontier, to the Chebeague Island Historical Society here in Maine.
The talk is part of the 2022 Ellsworth Miller Lecture Series and kicks off at 7pm. It’s open to the public and details can be found here.
I was, ironically, on Chebeague, an island off Yarmouth, Maine, when news of the first confirmed case of Covid-19 broke in late March 2020, an event that made the pandemic “real” for the state. (My story from that trip is here.)
COLIN WOODARD is a New York Times bestselling author, historian and award-winning journalist.
