Speaking on overcoming American divisions at Milken Global, Beverly Hills, California
May 1 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

I’ll be speaking on the work of Nationhood Lab and the lessons of American Nations and Union at the 2023 Milken Institute Global Conference in Beverly Hills May 1. It’s a private conference with attendance limited to registered guests.
My remarks will be as part of a panel entitled “Town Hall: Healing America.” Here’s the description from the conference organizers:
Our society and politics are clearly fragmented along party, social, racial, and economic lines. From election outcomes to pandemic responses to social justice movements to gun control—how can Americans build a greater sense of unity when it seems we’re confronted with one divisive issue after the next? This interactive Town Hall will contemplate how we can work toward bridging the partisan divides that most threaten our nation’s future. Leaders from both sides of the aisle will engage the audience in a reflection of how this country has bounced back from social rifts in the past and identify areas where Americans can find common ground.
