Speaking on Union and the American national story, Chicago, Illinois, October 22 (Private)

I’m returning to Chicago to again address the National Society of Colonial Dames in the State of Illinois at their annual meeting on October 22. It’s a members-only event, but if you’re in Chicago and wanting to connect, give me a shout. This time I’ll be speaking on the battle over the creation of the U.S. national story, a tale told in Union: The Struggle to Forge the Story of United States Nationhood.
I last spoke to the Illinois Dames at their 2022 annual meeting, when I talked about American Nations.
COLIN WOODARD is a New York Times bestselling author, historian and award-winning journalist. He is the author of seven books that have been translated into a dozen foreign languages and inspired an NBC television drama. He is currently Director of Nationhood Lab at the Pell Center for International Relations and Public Affairs at Salve Regina University. As State and National Affairs Writer at Maine's Portland Press Herald, he won a 2012 George Polk Award and was a finalist for a 2016 Pulitzer Prize.
