I’ll be delivering the keynote address at the Maine Conservation Alliance and Maine Consideration Voters’ annual Evening for the Environment on Oct. 19 at the University of New England in Portland, Maine. The topics are the issues raised in my most recent book, Union: The Struggle to Forge the Story of United States Nationhood with an eye to how the survival of our civic national narrative is an essential prerequisite to any effort at furthering environmental and social justice.
