The Maine Humanities Council hosts an annual statewide summer reading program whereby the have a Maine author select two recent Maine titles that, hopefully, tens of thousands will read and discuss across the state. The ReadME program is co-sponsored by the Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance and the Maine State Library and public libraries across the state take part, primarily by organizing local reading groups.
I was honored to be chosen to select the titles this year and, on Maine Public radio’s statewide interview-and-call-in program, Maine Calling, Friday I joined selected authors Morgan Talty (Night of the Living Rez) and Meghan Gillis (Lungfish) to discuss their works and recommend some more books. Have a listen, and do read their excellent books.
