Speaking on the U.S. democratic crisis in Newport, Rhode Island, July 17

Rhode Islanders: I’ll be speaking about the work Nationhood Lab is doing to help prevent a collapse of our democracy and federation — and the need for a revitalized national story of purpose and belonging — July 17th at 6:30p at Salve Regina University in Newport.

The talk is part of the university’s Seaside Chats series, co-sponsored by the Pell Center and the Rhode Island Center for the Book. It takes place outdoors on the lawn of Ochre Court, facing the ocean and Cliff Walk, so bring your own chair or blanket. This event is free and open to the public. You’ll find details here.

Nationhood Lab’s work comes out of my three most recent books — American Nations, American Character and, especially, Union.
