The pandemic forced the cancellation of the book tour for my most recent book, Union: The Struggle to Forge the story of United States Nationhood, but with restrictions lifted across New England I’ve been putting together an impromptu tour for the launch of the paperback, which goes in sale this week. Many events take advantage of outdoor settings; all of them are here in Maine so far.
It kicks off this Thursday, June 17, at Longfellow Books in Portland, Maine, which is hosting a launch event at 7pm. It’ll be right on Monument Square outside the story (if the weather allows) and features a conversation between me and veteran WCSH-6 news anchor Pat Callaghan about the book and its (unfortunately) poignant relevance to today’s events. It’s free and open to the public and you can pre-order the book from them to avoid any lines. Further details at their website.
Live elsewhere in Maine? These Union events are coming up:
June 24, 7pm, Blue Hill Books at Bagaduce Lending Library, Blue Hill, Maine. Details here.
July 6, 6pm, Camden Public Library at the Camden Amphitheater, Camden, Maine.
July 16, 6pm, Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library, Boothbay Harbor, Maine.
Hope to see some of you there, face to face!
